The Venue
Palazzo Parisio began in 1733 as a hunting lodge for Grand Master António Manoel de Vilhena, and became a palace in 1898 when the banker Marquis Giuseppe Scicluna bought it and spent seven years turning it into a winter residence of unusual ambition. What he left behind is still here, still in his family's hands: a double staircase in Carrara marble rising under frescoed and gilded ceilings, a ballroom carved and leafed in gold, the Sala Lombarda, vaulted stone cellars beneath, and walled gardens laid out in formal Italianate parterres. Weddings take the palace and its gardens together — vows in the parterres or the ballroom, dinner by candlelight along the Orangery, and a confetti walk out through the arched portal.
